The University Budget Committee wishes to submit the following report which describes the current process used at UNI to determine a budget and allocate funds. 

Action: 

Based on information provided in the University of Northern Iowa Budget Planning and Development Document and the AAUP statement of principles on The Role of the Faculty in Budgetary and Salary Matters, be it resolved that the UNI Faculty Senate appoint two of its members to work with the current University Budget Committee to create a set of recommendations for (1) incorporating direct faculty input in the preparation, implementation, review, revision and reallocation of the university budget and (2) inclusion of faculty on the President’s Council where budgetary matters may be discussed on an ongoing basis; with a report of recommendations due no later than September 1st, 2011 to the Faculty Senate
