Whereas the Strategic Plan was designed to guide all strategic financial decisions, including allocation of resources among academic and non-academic divisions, and among academic programs,
And whereas the Academic Program Assessment (APA) was undertaken before the current strategic plan was developed and adopted,
And whereas the Provost has informed the Senate in general terms that academic program cuts may be required in the near future

Be it resolved that any academic program cuts, reorganization, and expansion now and in the future be justified in a detailed way to the Senate and the larger univeristy community on the basis of, and in reference to,  specific outcomes and goals contained in the current university strategic plan
