Facts

This has been very long in the making. The primary focus is on faculty who engage in research or other scholarly misconduct.

Please review it carefully.

While the Procedures that implement this policy do not belong to the Senate, I've included a copy so Senators can see how they are being implemented. The Policy Committee gave significant input into the procedures.

Action

Motion will be to approve the policy.

Motion was amended in two ways:

1. A typo was corrected
2. It was passed conditionally. The condition was that the Procedures include the following statement:

"Where reasonable, when the respondent admits misconduct, the proposed settlement should focus on correction and rehabilitation rather than discipline."
