Proposed changes to the Regents Admissions Index (Kristin Moser, Kristin Woods, Terri Crumley)
The Board of Regents will be considering changes to the Regent Admission Index later this academic year. For the most recent two recruitment cycles (fall 2021 and fall 2022 cohorts) the Board waived the ACT/SAT requirement due to COVID-related concerns.
Strategic Planning Update (Andrew Morse)
Andrew Morse (Chief of Staff, Board & Governmental Relations) will update the Senate on the status and process of building UNI's next strategic plan.
GERC Update
GERC members Jeremy Schraffenberger and Ryan McGeough will update the Senate on General Education Re-envisioning Committee's work on the new UNIFI program.

GERC co-chairs Brenda Bass and Ana Kogl will provide an update on the General Education Re-envisioning Committee's activities.
Consultation: Academic Positioning Project Management Team
Members of the Academic Positioning Project Management Team have requested a consultation with the Senate to share ideas and solicit feedback.
Consultation: Fall 2021 Calendar
Last summer the Senate voted to endorse changes made to the Fall 2020 academic calendar, including earlier start and end dates, shortening the semester, and holding final exams during the days leading up to Thanksgiving. Administration officials have asked the Senate to offer feedback on alternatives for Fall 2021, as well as the possibility of creating a permanent Winter term. Associate Provost Patrick Pease will outline some of the models currently under consideration.
Consultation: Faculty Handbook Committee
Associate Provost for Faculty John Vallentine will update the Senate on the activities of the Faculty Handbook Committee, including a discussion of changes to three policies that were unanimously approved by the committee (see attached supporting document for a summary).
Consultation: Student Affairs
In response to faculty concerns about attendance this fall, Senate leadership has drafted a proposed revision/expansion of the COVID-19 addendum to Attendance Policy 3.06.
