Consultation: Models for 2021-2022 Academic Calendar

The Senate held a consultation on the 2021-2022 Academic Calendar at its January 25 meeting. Based on the feedback received from the Senate and other campus organizations, administration officials have narrowed the number of alternative models to three (see supporting documentation). Associate Provost Pease has requested an additional consultation so that the Senate can express its preference before a proposal is made to the Board of Regents during the week of February 8.

Emeritus request Phil Mauceri (Political Science)

Having met all requirements, Phil Mauceri has requested Emeritus status.  Please note that unusual circumstances require that we: 1) accept a paper Emeritus application instead of the usual electronic form; and 2) accept approvals using an email thread instead of collecting them on the paper form.  The Emeritus request was completed by Scott Peters, Political Science Department Head, on behalf of Dr. Mauceri, who no longer works at UNI.  The email approval thread indicates that the Department Head, Dean, and College Senate Chair have all approved Emeritus status for Dr. Mauceri.

General Education Revision Committee Proposed Structure

Upon having its proposed Student Learning Outcomes approved by the University Faculty Senate in April, 2019, the General Education Revision Committee (GERC) has met during this academic year to prepare a proposed structure for a new General Education program.  The GERC has held preliminary meetings with, and has received feedback from, the Faculty Senate and senate leadership.  The current proposal, revised on April 10, is a response to that feedback.
