Whereas the Faculty Senate Budget Committee has worked diligently during the Spring 2014 semester to evaluate the University's financial condition, to include its financial performance vis-a-vis UNI's current budget and the extent of the University's financial reserves, as outlined in the attached "Charge,"and whereas the Committee has expressed an interest in meeting with the Faculty Senate to discuss these matters,

Whereas the Faculty Senate and Board of Regents President Bruce Rastetter have each expressed a desire to have a candid and wide-ranging discussion of matters affecting UNI,
Consultative Session with UNI President William Ruud
President Ruud has expressed a desire to meet with the Faculty Senate to discuss the current state of the university, recent developments, and his plans for the university, and to answer questions and address any faculty concerns.
Consultative Session with Provost Gibson and Associate Provost Licari Regarding the Continuous Improvement Legislation
Senate File 2284, passed by the Iowa legislature and signed into law by Governor Branstad, requires the three Regent's universities to report on continuous improvement efforts in many of their courses. This legislation is expected to affect 62 courses taught at UNI during the 2013-14 academic year, and many more in the years to follow. It is important that the provisions of the legislation, the plans being made to comply with it, and its expected effect on instructional and assessment activities be made clear to faculty.
