Draft Proposal to Move to a Consent Agenda for Senate

Written mostly by Gretchen Gould, Immediate Past Chair, UNI Faculty Senate.  Minor edits by MHW, current Chair.   This is a proposal to amend the UNI Faculty Senate Bylaws Section 7.4 addressing the order of business each Senate meeting should follow.   The intent of this proposal is to move routine and/or non-controversial items to a consent agenda.  This will allow Senate to take care of routine issues efficiently and easily so that more time can be spent on substantive matters.

Consultative session on Biennial Faculty Activities Report for Board of Regents

The biennial faculty activities report has been revised so that it is consistent across the three regents institutions.  The items in the survey instrument have also been revised to better-reflect the work that faculty do.  The survey is sceudled to be conducted in the spring semester, with a pilot of the survey and process done in the fall 2012 semester.
The consultative session will be useful to hear concerns and ideas from the Senate.

Consultative session with Associate Provost Craig Klafter regarding International Programs

Associate Provost Klafter oversees International Programs, whose mission is:To develop and administer international study and exchange programs; provide leadership for initiating programs and responding to opportunities that enhance the objectives of internationalization throughout the university; coordinate programs that bring students from diverse backgrounds into contact with each other utilizing cultural differences as an education resource; provide opportunities for faculty to further develop international collaboration through research and teaching; serve as the principal liaison for
