Policy 13.13 Policy on Research Misconduct (approved by the Senate 11/30/2009), requires that any faculty member accused of research misconduct be investigated by a committee that includes faculty members whose names will have been "sought periodically from the Faculty Senate." Election of members to Senate Budget Committee
On April 23, 2012, the University Faculty Senate approved changes to the University Faculty Senate Budget Committee. Members of that committee are now elected by the Senate after a campus-wide call for nominations.
Consultative session on reporting of course grade distributions
The distribution of grades within a given course (or individual section) is a matter of public record. Under open records laws, the University must furnish such information to anyone who requests it. The University has furnished such information to private companies for about 10 years. (For an example, see www.myedu.com).Registrar Patton would like to discuss whether such data should be made available via UNI's website and, if so, what restrictions should be placed on it.
Consultative session on Campus IT progress and needs
President Allen formed an IT Task Force which issued a report in 2009. Information Technology is a division of Academic Affairs and is overseen by the Chief Information Officer, who reports to the Provost.
Fiscal Year 2013 Budget Update and Discussion of Spending Priorities
Under Section 5.3 of the Senate's bylaws, "The Senate acts for the faculty in making provision for informal consultation with the officers of administration, including the academic deans, but particularly with the President of the university and the Vice-President and Provost."
