Revisions to Curriculum Handbook
Whereas, the Senate passed a resolution in Spring 2014 to:
1. Amend the curricular process to allow proposals each year, rather than alternate years.
2. Divide the curricular process, with distinct and different tracks for more substantive and less substantive changes;
And whereas the Senate appointed an ad hoc curriculum committee to revise the Curriculum Handbook accordingly;
And whereas the UCC and GCCC are both scheduled to review the proposed revisions to the Handbook in mid-October.
Policy on the Assignment and Changing of Grades
Whereas the assignment of course grades to students is a key responsibility and prerogative of the course instructor, there are nonetheless certain extraordinary circumstances in which parties other than the instructor of record may be empowered to record or change student grades for a course. This policy articulates how grades are to be assigned and changed at the University of Northern Iowa.
Creation of faculty committees to implement Master Agreement due process standards for dismissal of faculty
Whereas, United Faculty and the Board of Regents have agreed to add language to the Master Agreement guaranteeing that faculty faced with dismissal are entitled to due process standards consistent with the Board's 1973 Procedure for Handling Faculty Dismissal Cases;
