General Education Revision Committee Proposed Structure

Calendar Item:
1503
Docket Number:
1382
First Name:
James
Last Name:

Facts:

Upon having its proposed Student Learning Outcomes approved by the University Faculty Senate in April, 2019, the General Education Revision Committee (GERC) has met during this academic year to prepare a proposed structure for a new General Education program.  The GERC has held preliminary meetings with, and has received feedback from, the Faculty Senate and senate leadership.  The current proposal, revised on April 10, is a response to that feedback.

Action:

Therefore, be it resolved that the University Faculty Senate accepts the General Education Revision Committee's proposed structure for a new General Education Program at UNI, as revised on April 10.  Thus, this committee will be discharged and a new committee will be assembled to commence the second phase of the initiative.

NOTE:  The vote on April 13 will be whether to move the item from the Senate Calendar to the Docket, OR some other disposition, consistent with paragraph 7.7 in the Senate Bylaws.  If the item is docketed, a vote on this action would take place during the senate meeting on April 27.
