The Educational Policies Commission has proposed changes to Policy 10.08, which pertains to intellectual property rights regarding online course development.
Ad Hoc Governance Committee recommendations
The Senate's Ad Hoc Governance Committee has developed a number of recommendations to enhance Senate structures and procedures. Past Senate Chair James Mattingly, who chaired the ad hoc committee, will present them to the Senate for a vote.
Free speech syllabus statement
The Board of Regents has approved recommendations by its Free Speech Committee, one of which is the inclusion of a free speech statement on all syllabi (see supporting documentation). Senate Vice-Chair Danielle Cowley and Senate DEI Committee member Cara Burnidge have drafted a statement in accordance with the BOR's decision, and it will be presented to the Senate for a vote.

Proposed changes to Policy 3.01 on Student Academic Ethics
The increasing use of online education has resulted in new forms of cheating by students, which were unaddressed in the previous version of this policy. The proposed changes would specify categories for these new forms of cheating and identify specific penalties.
