Attached documents explain the "open pathway" to re-affirmation of accreditation with the Higher Learning Commission.  The other attachment is our Open Pathway Quality Initiative Proposal, an integral part of the process toward re-affirmation of accreditation on the open pathway.  Note that the service learning initiative that we chose as our Quality Initiative is central to the mission outlined in our strategic plan, especially to supporting goal #3 on community engagement.  Additional information about the HLC accreditation process, and the upcoming review, is available at the UNI HLC Accreditation Review website.

Action: 

HLC Liaison John Marr will be on campus November 11, providing an opportunity to discuss the upcoming visit in Spring 2021, as the culmination of our current 10-year re-affirmation of accreditation process.  Therefore, be it resolved that the University Faculty Senate will consult with HLC liaison John Marr.

The policy is currently in final stages of revision, but we feel it is important to communicate with the Senate our progress thus far.
