Be it resolved that the Faculty Senate approve the following program name changes:
1. HLTHPRO-BA: Public Health and Education--School of KAHHS
2. GRAPHTECH-BA: Graphic Technology Major--Department of Technology
In addition, be it resolved that the faculty senate approve the following merger of elementary and middle grades (K-8) major in math.
Be it resolved that the UNI Faculty Senate approves the granting of emeritus status to Dianna Briggs, Department of Teaching.
Be it resolved that the UNI Faculty Senate approves the granting of emeritus status to Ardith J. Meier, Language & Literatures.

Therefore be it resolved that the UNI Faculty Senate approves for Docketing and vote, the Emeritus Request for Associate Professor Kathy Oakland, Department of Teaching.
The Educational Policies Commission reviewed the Academic Responsibilities portion of policy 6.10 last academic year. We reviewed policies of peer institutions and our fellow Regents Institutions and report our recommended changes in the attached document.
In the past two years, some questions have come up from the committee convened to examine nominations for the Regents Award for Faculty Excellence.
1. Should the college senates, who are asked to obtain nominations, also be asked to judge the candidates in any way?
2. Should the candidates nominally hold the rank of full professor?
3. In addition, should teaching evaluations be required?
Therefore, be it resolved for the university senate to do the following:
1. Decide whether further discussions should be held by an ad hoc committee with college senates concerning whether they should provide some assessment of the candidates in addition to securing nominations?
2. Accept the proposed changes to the criteria of the Regents Award for Faculty Excellence, which includes a provision stating that full professor status is preferred but not mandatory for receipt of the award and teaching evaluations are not required.
3. Accept the minor editorial revisions.
Faculty Senate Reviews the Revised Curriculum Handbook.
Be it resolved that the Faculty Senate agrees to docket, discuss and vote to approve the revised Curriculum Handbook.
- The shortened curricular change cycle dictates that course and/or program change materials be completed, and reviewed by Faculty Senate during September.
The profession is currently changing the degree route for entry into the profession from a BA in Athletic Training to a Masters in Athletic Training. Therefore, to prevent any confusion for future undergraduate students interested in becoming a professionally certified athletic trainer, we want
to change the name of the major from Athletic Training to Athletic Training & Rehabilitation Studies
Therefore, be it resolved that the Senate accepts for voting to docket and initiating discussion, all materials relating to changing the name of the major from Athletic Training to Athletic Training & Rehabilitation Studies
