Be it resolved that the UNI Faculty Senate approves the granting of emeritus status to Alan Schmitz, School of Music.
Whereas, the Faculty Awards Committee has met and decided upon recommendations for recipients of the Regents Award for Faculty Excellence.
Therefore, be it resolved that the Senate will approve the committee's recommendations; be it further resolved that discussion of nominees will take place in executive session of the Senate.
Whereas, students pursuing a double degree (two different degrees, BA and BS for example) must earn thirty-two credit hours beyond the hours required for the primary degree. This does not apply to double majors (for example, BA in Biology and BA in Chemistry).
Therefore, be it resolved, that the elimination of the additional hour requirement for students pursuing the double degree concurrently but retaining the requirement for students who have completed one degree and then seek a second degree be approved by Faculty Senate.
There are three recommended university level student learning outcomes that have been developed by a committee appointed by the provost. These have been approved/endorsed by all college senates at UNI and also reviewed by the University Curriculum Committee as well as the Council of Department Heads. They are now presented to the UNI Faculty Senate and recommended to be officially adopted as university level Student Learning Outcomes for UNI.

Therefore, be it resolved, that the university-wide student learning outcomes committee meet with Faculty Senate for feedback and approval of the university-wide student learning outcomes developed in the spring of 2017.
Be it resolved that the UNI Faculty Senate approves the granting of emeritus status to Hans Isakson, Economics; and Patricia Gross, Family Services.
Be it resolved that the UNI Faculty Senate approves the granting of emeritus status to Mary Elizabeth Boes, Social Work, and Fred Abraham, Economics.
Whereas the status of the rights and freedoms for individuals working in the public sector to engage in collective bargaining under chapter 20 of the Iowa code is currently in question.
Whereas the faculty of UNI have chosen to exercise their rights to engage in collective bargaining.
Whereas the attached statement from the Chair of the Faculty affirms support for continuing the rights for individuals working in the public sector to engage in collective bargaining and opposes elimination or reducing the rights currently outlined in Chapter 20 of the Iowa code.
Therefore it be resolved that the Faculty Senate endorse this statement in a show of support for the rights of all public sector workers in Iowa, including the faculty and staff at the University of Northern Iowa.
Therefore be it resolved that the University of Northern Iowa Faculty Senate pass the revised Diversity and Inclusion Resolution.
